Your filter is part of the system that keeps pool water circulating and removes particles. If something changes, a little information from you can help your pool technician decide what to check.
Watch for changes from normal
Cloudy water, weaker flow at the returns or a pressure reading that has changed from the normal clean-filter reading can be reasons to request an inspection. These signs do not prove the filter is dirty; other equipment or water chemistry issues may also need attention.
Use the right schedule for your equipment
Cartridge, sand and DE filters have different care requirements. The appropriate service interval depends on the filter model, its manufacturer’s instructions and the conditions at your pool. Avoid relying on a universal calendar or pressure number.
Share what you have noticed
- Your filter brand and model, if available.
- When it was last cleaned or serviced.
- A photo of the equipment and pressure gauge.
- Any recent change in water clarity, flow or equipment sounds.
Arrange a filter evaluation
KO offers filter cleaning as an à la carte service. Send us your equipment information and concerns through the evaluation form so we can assess the next step. Leave opening or servicing pressurized equipment to someone who can follow the manufacturer’s shutdown and pressure-release procedure.
