What Weekly Pool Care Should Include in Arizona

October 4, 2026 · KO Pool Services

A beautiful backyard pool needs a regular care routine. For homeowners in North Glendale, Peoria and North Phoenix, that routine should cover more than what the water looks like on the surface.

Start with the surface—and the bottom

Leaves and other debris can collect above and below the waterline. Skimming the surface and removing debris from the bottom help keep the pool looking cared for. Brushing tile, walls and flat areas is another part of a thorough visit.

Give baskets and equipment attention

Emptying collected debris from baskets goes hand in hand with checking the equipment for visible concerns. New leaks, unusual sounds or a change in how the pool circulates are worth reporting rather than leaving until the next scheduled visit.

Test the water instead of judging by appearance

Clear water alone does not tell you its chemical condition. Water testing provides information needed to guide treatment. Follow your equipment and chemical product instructions, and ask your pool professional about checks between service visits.

The CDC advises home pool owners to test disinfectant and pH at least twice daily, and more often during heavy use. A weekly service visit does not replace those between-visit checks.

Know what happened during the visit

At KO Pool Services, weekly care includes surface and bottom debris removal, brushing, emptying baskets, equipment inspection and water testing and balancing. Our weekly Skimmer report includes chemical specifics, service notes and before-and-after photos so you can follow your pool’s care.
